You know how the old saying goes, “two is always better than one”? I think it’s safe to say, it’s the same thing with wedding dresses! The trend of having a ceremony dress and a reception dress has got to be one of my favorites, and I’ve been seeing so much more of it lately (def not mad about it). Here are 4 big reasons why I think YOU should have a reception dress when you’re a bride! Plus, some of my favorite recent reception dresses!
1.It will keep your wedding gown clean
Most girls wait their whole entire lives to wear their wedding dress on that special day, but what brides don’t always think of is the after party. And don’t get me wrong, you want to wear your dress for as long as possible, but you’ll want to be able to save it and keep it for years to come. That’s where your reception dress comes in! You can change and save your gown from potential ruin.
2. Add a little bit of *spice* to your gallery
This is where my love of this trend comes from! I love seeing the brides in a STUNNING gown and then add some fun into their reception dress. Why not have a dress that reminds you of your ceremony and a dress that makes you think of the amazing party after? The more the merrier! Another thing I’ve seen that goes with the second dress, a different hair style!! For example, If you wore your hair down for the ceremony, when you change dresses you could change your hair up!
3.Show off the shoes
Just like your wedding dress, you spend forever picking out the perfect wedding shoe! With a long wedding gown you can’t always show off your shoes like you’d like, but with a short reception dress you can show them all night long.
4. Let out your inner party girl
This is the best excuse to wear all the fringe, sequins, feathers and more! If you’re a bride that wants to stick to something clean and simple then having a second dress will give you an opportunity to show off the fun side of your personality. Slipping into something shorter, looser, and less formal dress for your wedding reception will allow you to savor every moment of the celebration without being wary of your hem dragging on the dance floor!
