Let’s get you that golden hour glow✨

We all love the warmth, glow, and pure magic that golden hour gives.  The photos are always so enchanting and captivating.  And I might be a little biased, but I think the golden hour photos at a wedding are the all time BEST!  But you might be wondering, “Mack, what if golden hour is in the middle of our reception??” Don’t worry, if you’re wanting dreamy golden hour shots, there are plenty of ways to make it happen! 

Here are my 4 favorite ways to incorporate sunset portraits into your wedding day!

1. Call it a little ‘you’ time!

Every couple needs a little time for themselves on their wedding day! If you have your ceremony in the evening and sunset is going to happen during your cocktail hour, take advantage of this!  Sneak away with your new Mr. or Mrs. between the ceremony and reception and enjoy a peaceful moment alone before the party begins.  Why not snap a few photos too!  The moments after your officially married are pure bliss and to capture a sunset glow with that, *chefs kiss*

2. Golden hour entrance!

If you’re a couple that wants to get right to the party, think about doing a golden hour reception entrance!  This way you still get to have that stunning glow incorporated into your wedding gallery, but you didn’t have to spare a single second of party time with your loved ones! 

3. A picture perfect first dance!

Planning is key here, but to have your first dance at dusk is truly enchanting.  The way the light wraps around the couple is something out of your favorite rom-com!  A couple’s first dance always brings a tear to my eye, but there’s nothing quite like an outdoor first dance with the sunsetting in the background.  

4. Ceremony at sunset!

I honestly don’t think it could get any more beautiful!  An evening ceremony might not be for everyone, but if you’re a sunset lover this might be perfect for you! You won’t have to worry about missing the perfect sunset because it will be right behind you while you’re saying your vows!  All I can picture is magical, fairytale, love story and it gets me in my feels every. single. time. 

The Sloan’s knew that they wanted to sneak away and get some super magical, fairytale-like sunset portraits and that’s just what they did!  These two cuties met through friends during their time at the University of Idaho and the rest is history!  The vibe of their big day was SO romantic and you couldn’t blink without feeling the overwhelming amount of love that surrounded them!  There was all the love and happy tears at the ceremony and speeches.  Then, they had the best party ever with a STUNNING sparkler send off to finish off the night.  Pure magic!

The girls that get it, GET IT. Planning for sunset portraits is of course key, but don’t let traditional wedding schedules get in the way of your must haves for your wedding day!  There are so many different ways to be able to incorporate that golden hour glow into your gallery, we just need to find what works best for you!  Whether it’s having your ceremony during those sunset moments or taking a quick minute away with just you and your love, there’s always a way to make it happen!
